Travel Essentials

When preparing for a trip, a checklist is the only way to ensure that I don’t end up like Kevin’s mother on her flight on Home Alone, trying to recall what she left behind. I’ve always been the type to forget something, but a checklist has eliminated those excessive trips to stores once I reach my destination. I also make a quick trip to the store prior to my trip to pick up a few travel-size items, i.e. toothpaste, mouth rinse, q-tips, etc. These items can be found in the travel section of stores such as Target, Walgreens, and CVS.

In order to make my flight a bit more bearable, I ensure that I pack my ipod and nook. I can only snooze for an hour on a plane, and these items help kill time. And how could I forget the window seat, my fave seat on the plane?! My flight from hell made me more appreciative of the little things such as a window seat!! I’ll save that story for a rainy day. Because I’m always freezing, I also pack a blanket. If you forget, you can always purchase one in the airport for about $10. Of all the flights I’ve taken, passengers were given a blanket only twice. What are those items that you cannot leave home without?
