Florida Fun Bikes
Football Season has finally arrived, and what better way to tailgate than upon Gainesville’s very own Florida Fun Bikes!!! Florida Fun Bikes boasts as the best “pub party on wheels” and is the first of its kind in Gainesville, FL. This human-propelled bike accommodates 16 people and takes its riders on a tour of Downtown or Midtown. Riders have the option of creating their own route but FFB must be notified in advance, and the route must be reasonable. You must have a minimum of eight (8) in your party to reserve the fun bike. For private tours Sun-Thurs, the cost is $300 and Fri – Sat is $350. If your party does not meet the minimum requirement of eight people, you can always purchase a seat on the Mix ‘N Mingle tour. For the month of September, the Mix ‘N Mingle tour is only $20 per person!! When this special ends, the seats will return to their normal price of $30.
I was able to experience this thrill last night and had the time of my life!! It was also a good workout!! Note to self and readers: ride with people who are actually going to pedal or just sit on the bench in the back!!!! Lol. If I had a dollar for every time the driver had to yell pedal, I’d have enough to buy us all a round of drinks at the bar. People were having so much fun, they forgot to pedal, leaving us stranded in the middle of the street amid traffic!! I encourage you to wear comfortable shoes and clothes because you will be climbing on and off the bike. You will sweat so I also encourage you to bring deodorant if you tend to sweat a little more than others! Just kidding! Lol. Maybe. Now, what component makes any ride more enjoyable? If you guessed alcohol, this may be true but that was definitely not the answer I was looking for :-). Gainesville’s Open Container law prohibits alcohol on the bikes. Try again. Music you say? You are correct! FFB does come equipped with a music system and riders are able to connect their phones and other devices to the system to play music of their choice.
Along our route, we stopped at three bars – The Bank, Whiskey House, and SideCar. Because FFB has formed partnerships with several bars in both Midtown and Downtown, we were able to take advantage of drink and food specials. If you prefer the more economical route, you are allowed to bring food on the bike and whatever else you think will make your experience more enjoyable. As previously mentioned, alcohol is the only item prohibited. Everything else is fair game!
To say that I enjoyed Florida Fun Bikes is an understatement! Not only is it a great idea for tailgating, but birthday parties, parades, bachelor parties, and reunions as well. The possibilities are endless. Just grab a seat and let your feet pedal you to your next destination. Where will your feet take you?

I’ve never done this kind of activity. I’m more of a one bike on person, mainly because I’m used traveling alone. But of course that is just me. I’m impressed with Florida Fun Bikes though as you said they have a music player installed. That must’ve been really cool!

I’m a bit far away for this, looks like a lot of fun though. Thanks for sharing

I’ve seen these around Dublin and always think they look like a lot of hard work! Everyone always looks like they’re having a good time though!

Looks fun! I don’t think I could keep the rhythm, especially if we are stopping at all those bars, lol
